One True Crime Find!

"-I've got a first edition of The Colossus, I said. Knicked it from Tonbridge Library...-Knick some poems for me, Maxine said. I promised I'd be in the glass case at Tunbridge Wells reference library that very evening."

This is an exchange between the main characters in One True Void by Dexter Petley.

The novel is set in 1970s Hawkhurst & Tunbridge Wells.

Copies of the novel are available to borrow at Hawkhurst Library & Tunbridge Wells Library.

fair cop, rob.
I must say, though, that i'm delighted to have come across this site, not least this post, being the author (of the crime) in question. at least i seem to have replaced the book with one or my own.
being recognised as a kent writer has been my modest ambition all along, so thankyou for this. you may like to know that two of my other three novels are also set in Hawkhurst & T.Wells and the Weald in general, sometimes trespassing into East Sussex, alas.
a further pure Hawkhurst novel is in progress.
Kent stuff ( writers & local history) are always on my list, so discovering the Kent team of reading detectives doing all this excellent door-to-door work is something i really appreciate, and i've already discovered two unknown gems. so many thanks to you all.
