The Knatchbull/ Knatchbull-Hugesson family- There is a strong association between the Austen & Knatchbull family. Most notably, Jane Austen's niece Fanny Knight was the second wife of Edward Knatchbull. Her son, Edward Knatchbull- Hugesson, the first Baron Brabourne, edited the first published edition of Jane Austen's letters: http://www.pemberley.com/janeinfo/brablets.html
He also wrote stories for children: Eg. The Pig-faced Queen (Queer Folk, 1874) is a savage attack on feminism. His daughter, Eva Knatchbull-Hugesson was an entertaining diarist. A manuscript for her unpublished novel, "The Netherpoint Tragedy," is in the Knatchbull collection at the Centre for Kentish Studies.
