Odo's Hanging is missing Find!

Don't you just hate it when you go looking for a book on your shelves and it isn't there? It isn't where it should be and it isn't anywhere else either.

I had been thinking about the book Odo's Hanging by Peter Benson which I read years ago and remembered it being set in Winchester at the time of the creation of the Bayeux Tapestry. I loved this book so much I treated myself to a copy in hardback. But now it isn't on the shelf. I must have let someone borrow it and it hasn't returned. Sometimes I think books should be fitted with homing devices.

I recall this book as weaving a wonderful tale around the tapestry and the people involved in its creation. Set in Winchester, the Ancient capital of England, the story is woven around one particular panel of the tapestry which doesn't fit with the rest and isn't anything to do with the battle of Hastings, but depicts, or rather hides, a love story.

Even though I have lost my copy I am going to include it as a find here, and set off on a real detective journey to find myself another copy.

Did you find a copy of my novel, Odo's Hanging? Thanks so much for you kind comments, and for buying a hardback copy! I've got a few copies lying around. If you'd like a signed copy, let me know. I'm at peterbenson@blueyonder.co.uk
