Nevil Shute and Langstone connection

I've just been re-reading Nevil Shute's novel "Requiem For A Wren" which is set in the Exbury and Beaulieu river area of Hampshire during WW11. He seems to have rather gone out of fashion these days but I can thoroughly recommend his books - he tells a rattling good story and I found it particularly interesting to read about the local area and the aircraft aspects in this one, having just learnt about his aircraft connections.

He used to be a customer of the Pelham Bookshop in Havant, where I worked in the late 60's and he was obviously highly regarded by Miss Babbidge, the owner, because she still talked about him many years later.

I believe he lived in Langstone Mill for a short time, but I'd be fascinated to know whether he ever wrote about the Langstone or Havant area.
