Mary learns to blog!

There has to be a first time for everything and this is my first ever blog! I surf the web every day but blogging and twitter have passed me by so far so thank you Reading Detectives for getting me to learn some new skills.

What a project we have ahead of us. Already I have rediscovered the wonderful poetry of Norman Nicholson, read some of Enid Wilson's diary entries which she wrote for the Guardian - a contemporay of Harry Griffin - and delved into a wonderful document called 'Early Recollections of Grange' by A.M.Wakefield.

Already I am looking at this beautiful county where I live in a new way - I feel as if I am seeing it through the eyes of the authors of the books I am reading. Next meeting of the group tomorrow so it will be interesting to discover what everyone else has been reading.

Hello there,

I'm a Lancs "ex-pat" in the Kent Reading Detectives group. I love the area around Grange & Norman Nicholson is one of my dad's favourite writers.

I enjoyed your posts.

Just managed my 1st Blog- Busy, busy, busy! But the Kent Reading Detectives meet again tomorrow. We've discovered that Kent provided unlikely boltholes for W.H Davies (and Bart Kennedy, another Edwardian "Tramp" writer.) Love, Rob
